Track Pinning (All Tiers)
This is the headline feature for anyone working in massive sessions. You can now lock (pin) critical tracks (like lead vocals, dialogue, or master faders) to the top of the Edit window.
- Pinned tracks remain visible as you scroll vertically through the rest of the session.
- Pinned tracks can have their view settings (clips, automation, height) adjusted independently of their source track.
Batch File Renaming (Studio & Ultimate)
For the first time, Pro Tools allows you to batch rename actual audio files on the disk directly from the Batch Clip Rename window. This is a major win for asset management and deliverables.
Mute Source Track on Commit
A small but vital quality-of-life update: When using Track Commit or Extract MIDI, there is now a “Mute Source Track” option. This allows for instant A/B testing without the heavier processing hit of deactivating/reactivating tracks.
Immersive Audio & Monitoring
MPEG-H Support (Studio & Ultimate)
Pro Tools has expanded its immersive footprint beyond Dolby Atmos to include MPEG-H, an object-based broadcast standard gaining massive traction in Asia and South America.
- Includes a free MPEG-H Renderer plugin by Fraunhofer IIS.
- Enables interactive audio features like multi-language support and selectable mixes.
Dolby Headphone Personalization
Mixing Atmos on headphones is now much more accurate. Using a custom Head Related Transfer Function (HRTF) profile, users can calibrate their monitoring to their specific ear/head shape for better translation to physical speaker arrays.
AI & Speech-to-Text Enhancements
Avid’s integrated transcription engine received several efficiency upgrades:
- Transcription Passthrough: Transcription data now automatically follows audio when you use AudioSuite, Consolidate, Commit, or Track Bounce.
- Granular Separation: You can now separate timeline clips specifically by word, sentence, or speaker.
- Processing Selection: Users can manually toggle between CPU or GPU for transcription analysis to optimize system resources.
Virtual Instruments & Rewards
Massive X Player (All Tiers)
Native Instruments’ legendary synth engine is now baked into Pro Tools.
- Includes the Massive X Essentials expansion pack for everyone.
- Active subscribers receive additional packs: Lo-fi & Chill Plucks and Haze.
Inner Circle Rewards
Annual subscribers and active perpetual plan holders get two new high-end plugins:
- Bogren Digital Ampknob BDH III: A high-gain tube amp simulator.
- Cut Classic Bad Math: A creatively destructive multiband distortion/fuzz plugin.

- Grid Line Customization: Adjustable brightness and opacity for grid lines.
- Favorite Elastic Audio/ARA: Ability to set a default “favorite” plugin for faster access.
